Dear Casting Director,
I am replying to your casting call position for ‘Leatherface’ on the Texas Film Commission website.
The search is looking for a male around 6'5", athletic and powerful. I feel I may be a unique match:
DOB:
3-19-75
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 175 lbs.
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Jacket: 43L
Shirt: 17, 37
Pants: 33, 36
Shoe: 12
Although I’ve enclosed a resume, you’ll quickly discover I have no professional acting/modeling experience. I am an artist / educator. Whereas 80% of my teaching profession is performance based, my fine arts background leads to strength in composition, lighting, costume, and staging. www.wodzianski.com may be of interest.
Further, I am a fan of the horror genre. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise is a personal favorite. I admire Tobe Hopper’s vision for the original film’s production aesthetics (low budget). Additionally, I am fascinated by the theme of repressed heroines rising against their phallic weapon carrying, gender confused, male aggressors. Ed Gein, Norman Bates, Buffalo Bill, Leatherface… Disturbed character motivation!
I understand the chances of being selected for this role are practically non-existent. If nothing else, please know that just the opportunity to apply is terribly exciting. Interestingly enough, Gunnar Hansen’s portrayal of ‘Leatherface’ in 1974 was his first professional role.
Should you be interested in additional photographs of me, I can fax them immediately. Additionally, I can arrange to meet you in Austin at a moment’s notice.
Thank you in advance,
Andrew K. Wodzianski
